As soon as we could, we put our daughter into a convertable carseat. Before we got her helmet, we didn't want her laying on the back of her head so we took her out of the infant carrier. We never had any problems while she was in the helmet and the carseat was rear-facing, and we have to make two hour trips to see her ortho!! No need to worry!!

How do you all handle car rides with your little one in a helmet? My son is still in a rear-facing seat and I'm worried the helmet will push his head forward or be uncomfortable. How about a forward facing, since we'll be in that soon.Any experiences to share? Thanks!~ Farah*mom to Khalid 9months old**In a STARBand for 3 weeks*

When my dd got her band I was worried about that too... but she had just about outgrown her bucket seat so we switched to a convertable that recliened a bit when rear facing. It was the Cosco Alpha Omega... it goes from5-80lbs. She sat rear facing with the band just fine.
