Guest guest
Sorry, I knew there was no lactose in soy milk I just worded it wrong I guess=) I meant maybe it is okay to drink soy milk as a " clear " liquid ~ it shouldn't upset your stomach like milk, but maybe it isn't watery enough?? Congratulations on going veg=) I have been a vegetarian since I was 10 actually so I have been through all the trials and tribulations ~ if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! As far as soy milk goes, I drink my tea black but I know most soy milk curdles when you add it to tea/coffee ~ it usually mixes quite well if you heat it up in the microwave first=) And experiment with different brands for flavour ~ I like " So Nice " the best. > > > > Really?? Guest guest
The curdling I discovered by accident but just thought maybe it was not fresh soy milk! We make our own now, but I was using " Silk " brand which I liked. I'll try the microwave method next time and see. I like a variety of tea, the only one I drink black is green tea. I don't know the answer about whether soy milk is considered a clear liquid, maybe the hospital or your surgeon can answer that. Actually my husband had most of the questions about vegetarianism, we found an excellent book called " Becoming Vegetarian " (written by a couple of Canadian nutritionists) which answered his main ones about amino acids and other nutrition questions. But thanks for the offer! > > Sorry, I knew there was no lactose in soy milk I just worded it > wrong I guess=) I meant maybe it is okay to drink soy milk as > a " clear " liquid ~ it shouldn't upset your stomach like milk, but > maybe it isn't watery enough?? > > Congratulations on going veg=) I have been a vegetarian since I was > 10 actually so I have been through all the trials and tribulations ~ > if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! > > As far as soy milk goes, I drink my tea black but I know most soy > milk curdles when you add it to tea/coffee ~ it usually mixes quite > well if you heat it up in the microwave first=) And experiment with > different brands for flavour ~ I like " So Nice " the best. >
