Guest guest
Bob, If another surgery is required, the sooner the better. The surgery is easier while the bone is still healing. BTW, I am headed back for surgery tomorrow. I am twelve weeks post upper/lower advancment and at week 5 my whole lower jaw shifted left by 3 -4 mm. So I am back to surgery. Sometimes it happens. Guest guest
Hi Bob, I have been thinking about you and wondering how you have been doing these past few weeks... wondering if your chin pain had finally relented? And wondering what was going on with your teeth.... I am SO SORRY about what happened. I would be wondering the same questions.... Regardless of the strength of the muscles... how does your bone relapse when it is PLATED and SCREWED in place?!?! Like you, I don't understand that AT ALL! How does that happen!?!? Saying that it does happen does not explain HOW it is possible that it can happen. And oh, how it does suck that it did happen with you. There is nothing I can say that will change the reality of the situation for you... I can only say that I'm really sorry and I will be thinking about you. Let us know when you get the call from the ortho or OS about how to proceed. I am sure everyone here is thinking about you (and cptbob too!) I understand your continued desire to get it done right and your committment since you've come this far... Hang in there and keep in touch. Take good care, Your first time around surgery bud, Katja PS, if it's any consolation, I went to my ortho yesterday and heard not one word that anything looked good or anything positive... just that they'll get everything moved into place slowly but surely. What does that mean?!?! I think it means that my bite- my TEETH- still really sucks and there is a LOT O' work left to be done. My teeth don't want to be cooperative. Part of me is panicking because of all this. Sometimes I wonder if my jaws and teeth were ever meant to be straight. Sigh. > > > > Hi again ,hav'nt posted in a few weeks ,cause I was starting to feel > like a whiner... > I am at week 7 ,Jaw back 6 mm and geino...... > I was amazed after the surgery how he had moved my teeth back, I all > of a sudden had healthy overbite......he unwired me at 10 > days,...and within a week or so I was in disbelief as i was > witnessing my teeth moving back to where they were and shifting to > the right 3 mm...when I saw the OS again he said it was probably > because the muscles were confused,....and the sooner the Ortho got > going the better , I put it to rest and stopped worring about it > untill that Appt. which was yesterday.....He obviously new all about > it because he brought it up instantly....He was not Happy with what > he saw ,calling it a relapse....He was trying to think up with a > bandaid solution to try to avoid me going through surgery again....I > told Him I did not go through all that for nothing and if it has to > be redone then thats what has to happen!! > He was to talk to the OS yesterday afternoon ,I hav'nt heard > anything yet..... > Has Anyone out there had to go through a failed surgery and have to > have it Redone??
