Guest guest
I'm not sure if all nerves work the same way, but I have had a similar experience from a prior surgery. I had a large mole/birthmark removed from my tricep area -- the surgeon cut a football-shaped wedge of skin off and then stitched it up. That was 10 years ago and I have fairly normal sensations there now, but it took probably 5 years for the tingling (only when I touched it) to stop. Since the back of your arm is not an area that you touch much (unless you're scratching), it hasn't really been an issue with me. But the way it has felt was exactly as you described...that distant, tingling feeling. Actually, touching it now to refresh my memory on how it feels, light pressure feels " normal " , but if I push on it a little harder, I still get a tingle. Reading what you said actually makes me feel better about the possible results of the surgery. I can definitely live with the nerve changes if it's going to be like my arm. It'll be weird I'm sure, because although I'm " used to " the way my arm feels now, it doesn't feel like my other arm, but that's something I'm sure I'll get used to over time and not even notice. Thanks for the update on your recovery!
Guest guest
Hi Carol, I think we have " spoke " about this before. I told you about the custom implant made of a coral product (I always forget the name,I would have to look it up). Anyways, I am now 18 months post and finally (almost) done with my braces, so the OS says in another couple of months we will do the implant. I haven't looked at any of the " off the rack " implants yet, but I don't think they would work for what I need. I will post when I get it done. Let me know what you decide. a > > Hello All, > > For any interested here is a quick update. I had upper/lower done > back in Aug '03 to correct under/cross bite.
