Guest guest
First of all I'd like to thank all of you who replied to my message and posted words of encouragement. I really think first trimester of pregnancy cravings for bread/cereals is making this super hard on me because till now I have been doing wonderful both physically and I had a much more postive attitude and now it just feels like I " ll be on this forever...I hope after a year I can add some illegals but I do see the benefit of staying on the diet for the most part... I'm feeling great (besides pregnancy nausea) and thank god all my blood work (as mentioned) is really great too! Anyway, I've been tolerating most foods but haven't really started with dried fruits and coconut. Is coconut flour ok to use in baking or is it considered more advanced? Also what about cocoonut flakes, I wanted to make macaroons for Passover.... One more question... Elaine mentioned on occasion a diet soda. Which diet soda is permissable? Thank you...Becky

Is coconut flour ok to use in baking or is it considered more advanced? In general, it is considered more advanced. But for some reason, some people find it easier to tolerate than nut flour - so, like everything else on SCD, it depends on the person eating it. Dried fruits can be pretty advanced, so don't overdue. OTOH, they may take care of some of your carb cravings, so that might help. > Also what about cocoonut flakes, I wanted to make macaroons for Passover.... Yeah - that's fine but it also depends on your reaction, so you may want to start eating them slowly to make sure that you are okay with them. > > One more question... Elaine mentioned on occasion a diet soda. Which diet soda is permissable? Thank you. It's not really clear, but diet coke and etc. Occasional.
