Guest guest
Well, I had my 1 year check-up yesterday and my doctor said everything was fine. He did make a comment about my liver enzymes, but said he didn't think it was anything to worry about. I'm not so sure. He doesn't think I need to see him again for a year, and what if they get worse during that time. Anyway, the number he's worried about is the ALT (SGPT) and it has gone from 29 at 6 months post-op to 56 at 1 year. Normal range is 0-40, according to LabCorp. I'm going to check with my PCP and try to get my pre-op numbers. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, he said that I've only lost a little muscle mass and have mostly lost fat, so that may be why I haven't seen a bigger number loss, but have lost a lot of sizes. (I've lost 145 pounds and gone from a 32W to a 16W or an 18 Misses) I saw a different surgeon than the one who did my RNY, and he told me that I should keep losing for the next year and that they would be happy, if I lost another 20 pounds, because than I'd be at the 75% mark. I found that very enlightening. Thanks-- in FL RNY 8/2/02 Dr. Marema 369/224/?
