She is being serious here I think, you CAN cut out a portion of the

back of the shoe out with No damage to the shoe whatsoever. Our ortho

cuts a small hole on the back off to the inside of the shoe so we can

tell if our daughters foot is all the way down. You could have any shoe

repair place punch out a hole for you too. You're right, it would have

been nice to know about this style, (they are rather new though) but

you can cut the hole yourself in this pair if you want!
