Isn't the window of opportunity 18 - 24 mos or something like that? Well, you

have plenty of time to lose 35 - 40 lbs in that time period if you are 6 mos

out. I wouldn't take diet pills. And be sure to ask your sugeon about this.

I am thinking maybe your PCP gave you the diet pills and he is not

considering that you have had wls and doesn't know how it really works.

Don't take the diet pills. Let the surgery work on its own!

,

That really blows me away. I did the up and down thing with weight

loss pills in my younger days....and they actually increased my

appetite. I am one of those weird ones that uppers make me nervous

and hungry, and downers make me calm with no appetite. It really was

one of the most horrendous experiences of my dieting life. I'm not

sure who your doc is...or if you want to post their name, but this

just seems real odd to me. Is there more to the story? Would you

feel comfortable getting a second opinion from a different DS

surgeon?

I have heard that a few of the doctors are wonderful about answering

emails and giving advice even if you aren't their patient. Perhaps

some folks who are on this board that have been successful with

communicating with other DS docs could give you their names and email

addys, and you could just see if you could get somemore insight into

this?

Please take care of yourself,

Theresa

, according to what our Dr. Crookes told us at our last meeting,

yes, a slow down in weight loss IS perfectly NORMAL! It starts our at a

good clip, and slows down, and ultimately at about 18 to 24 months out,

stops, and your weight stabilizes. What'd you think, that it goes on at

a zillion pounds a week and suddenly stops when you reach your " goal " ?

Don't take those stinking pills. And Who the heck is this M.D.?
