Thanks for all the super advice guys. I know I should start with a

protein drink in the morning but I am always running late and never

seem to have time to mix it before running out the door. I may work

on it though. I do seem to be less " hungry " and more satisfied after

a protein drink. I have really been tuned in lately to what my body

is telling me since I have been writing things in the food journal.

I know if after lunch I am still kind of empty I will have a protein

drink and I don't think about food anymore till after work which is a

good thing! I do count protein but found when I did not count

calories too, I was eating too much to get an adequate amount of

protein. I just can't do shakes all day, just one or two is about

all I can do and I try to get the rest of my protein from regular

food. I am in some sort of weird " zone " where I can control my food

and I must say I attribute part of it to stopping the carb monster

and to quitting drinking carbonated drinks. It is amazing what a

difference it has made and thank goodness I am finally losing again.

For the person that mentioned they have trouble sleeping, I would

suggest talking to your Dr. about taking something. I am 40 and have

spent 90% of my life sleep deprived because of insomnia, stress and

depression. I finally gave in about 3 months ago and started taking

Ambien. I know it doesn't work for everyone but it has been a

complete God send for me. I lay down and go to sleep at night and

never wake up with any after effects. I was so freaked about taking

it that I went and printed all the research studies for it and read

about 40 pages of info on it before I would fill the prescription. I

would suggest doing that for the info and it really reassured me that

it wasn't going to make me a dope head. I know, I am paranoid but

better safe than sorry. I know it has really helped me regain my

sanity and I feel 10000% better.

You might want to try this: Each evening, put dry protein powder into

an empty, dry shaker/water/snapple bottle and set it on your counter.

In the morning, just pour in cold water and shake. You can take it

with you and drink it on the way to work if you are running late.

Actually easier than eating yogurt in the car! I carry bottles with

dry protein with me everywhere I go. Makes it sooooooo easy. I like

shakes made with about 6 ounces of water, so the little Dannon 8

ounce water bottle are perfect and they fit in my purse.
