I’ve

been using liquid iodine from BodyBio, who also make Elyte: http://www.bodybio.com/storeproduct417.aspx

The source of iodine is potassium iodide. I didn’t do a lot of

research into potassium iodide, but it seemed a good option to me. Certainly

my body is tolerating it quite well, and after 4 months I’m noticing an

improvement in my overall body functioning so I feel that it is helping.

I

do take a very small dose, one (1) drop of liquid iodine once a week. I

add it to my nightly magnesium drink (just stir into a glass of water). I

do notice a slight taste to the iodine on those nights I include it, but my

stomach doesn’t react, as it does quickly to most things. You could

probably add it to something else, such as a cup of tea or soup. I also use

iodized salt a few times a week, plus Celtic gray sea salt at other times.

I

just looked at Iosol. I see some reports that potassium iodide may not be

as desirable as other sources of iodine. On the other hand, the dosages

discussed are fairly high, so perhaps it depends on the quantity taken. I’d

need to do some more research into the differences between potassium iodide and

ammonium iodide or other iodine forms before I could state positively which is

best.

I

always go with small doses when it comes to supplements, especially when it is

something I will be taking over the long-term.

I

think Iosol is SCD-legal, even if a portion is extracted from kelp. And

if you are iodine deficient, then it may be more critical to get the

supplementation regardless if the extraction process retains the polysaccharide

structure of the kelp.

This

might be a time when you try one or the other of these options, in small doses,

and see how your body tolerates it. One might be better tolerated than

the other. In the meantime I’ll do some more checking into

potassium iodide and ammonium iodide and report on what I discover. May

take me a few days, however [grin].

I've

been trying to find a legal iodine supplement unsuccessfully. I'm quite

deficient. I eat boiled cabbage - can't get enough. I checked out that

iosol - it's from kelp. but it says it's been purified? can I take it? is it

legal? Kim, what is the source on your iodine drops?

Thanks guys,
