follow up--exciting news...

Hi everyone,Thank you for responding and leaving me your thoughts about the doc's reaction. You all had valid points that I will think about. I have to share another doctor story with you...this time a good one. As follow-up to the GI s advice to my son about going on Remicade, I contacted the Rheumatologist that we had worked with prior to my son's dx. He is primarily a researcher and in the course of out discussion, I mentioned that we tried SCD and what the science was behind it, why this made sense to me. He said that the research that they are doing right now with mice has been one of showing the connection of certain bacteria to be a contributing factor in the unbalance in the gut. (YAY!) I said that's exactly the idea behind SCD. I gave him Dr Haas' name and the name of Elaine's book and he said he would be interested in looking at

that.He admitted to "poo pooing" this idea before he saw what he saw in these mice and that he's very excited about it. THANK YOU JESUS! is all I have to say to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He also said he thought the diet was a "reasonable option". So cool. I think I love this man!Thanks again to all of you for your support--I'll let you know what happens with my son.God Bless,Sherry

As more research emerges about gut bacteria, I too get more hopeful that more

doctors will look seriously at SCD. It's great that you found some support!

Sherry,

Can you ask him the official title of that study and post it? I'm trying to get

my son off Remicade and I'd love to get a copy of that for my son's doctor.
