Guest guest
Hi All, I've seen just saw an OS for a second opinion yesterday and he told me that I should be able to have rigid fixation and elastic bands rather than wiring which is instead the option my main OS is going for during my surgery. There seems to be a mix of wiring and rigid fixation patients in this group. Could any one provide me with some insight into how they chose what option to go for, or what your doctors told you were the merits of either option depending on your case? I've heard things like that wiring is better in terms of avoiding nerve damage and enables your jaw to adjust to its new position more easily but I've also heard that rigid fixation is better for patients who have TMJ such as myself. Thanks, Sara
