Guest guest
Hi Vickie. A lot of the things that Betsy wrote are things that i did with my daughter. When we started repo'ing her at about 3 months old her plagio was probably mild/moderate (I never had her measured or seen my a speicalist) and I didn't stop until she was round again. I'm not gonna lie to you, repo is a major project but SO worth it. Your questions were about night time repo which is of course the most challenging, but you have gotten some good suggestions on stuff to do to help. You could also talk to your pediatrician to see what their views are on side sleeping. When your child gets old enough, that could be an option. Since I have always had my own sleep issues to deal with, I decided that the best plan of action for me and my daughter was to start co sleeping. But it was more than just bringing her into the bed with me and my husband. For about 2 months, I slept on the couch with her at night, me flat on my back and her lying on top of me. We started out with her lying on her back on top of me but sort of over inthe crook of my arm closest to the back of the couch. In this way I could positin her head the way I wanted it. I had spoken to my pediatrician and he had said that as long as she was strong enough to roll from back to front and then back again, she could sleep on her tummy, so as soon as she could do that we stayed on the couch, but she slept on her tummy on my chest. I can't say strongly enough that I am NOT recommending you put your child to sleep on his tummy!!! You have to talk to your own pediatrician before you make any decisions regarding that. I hope this helps. Please let us know how things are going. Becky, repo moderator , repo grad > > > > > > Hello everyone. I really need your help, any help would be appreciated. I have a four month old son with mild plagio. We've been to see the specialist and she thinks that doing a couple months of repo will fix the situation. For the first week that we did repo, his head shape was starting to look better, but now he's learned how to move his head better and put himself back on the flat spot. Since then his head shape hasn't improved at all. > > We've tried putting a him to sleep in a wedge to keep him on his side but he can kick those out from underneath him or move himself out of them if we put them under the sheets. > > Does anyone have any other suggestions that we could try???? He does not stay still in his crib at all so putting something under his head won't work. > > We are trying our hardest to avoid putting a helmet on him. Any help would be greately appreciated. > > THanks in advance > > Vickie > > >
