Guest guest
Hey Mel, I am having my surgery in March too, but not exactly at the same time.... on March 9. But that is pretty close. I am having lower and upper and one wisdom tooth removed too (I only have one). Are you as excited as I am!?!? It's nice to actually have the date scheduled! Let me know if you still want to be " surgery buddies " even though it's not exactly the same time. Katja
Guest guest
Katja, I am very excited and anxious and scared all at once. The only part I'm not really looking forward to is the diet afterwards. I'm a person who loves food and how things taste and one of my all time favorite foods is Nachos. Don't think I'll be eating those anytime soon after surgery. I'm having my lower jaw brought forward and 3 wisdom teeth taken out (the fourth decided not to show) at the same time. I am 23 years old but I'm going to be asking if a cot can be put beside my bed for my mommy to sleep in the room with me, lol. Sure I'll be your buddy, be nice to see what you go through before I have to, hehehe.. > > Hey Mel, > I am having my surgery in March too, but not exactly at the same > time.... on March 9. Guest guest
I know, I have mixed emotions too... for me, it's been hard to trust that everything will be fine. I know I've got great doctors, but I don't easily trust other people, so I it is hard to let go. I know what you mean about the food.... I have been " stocking up " on culinary pleasures these past few weeks to tide me over before I can eat again! And I have been avoiding ice cream and milk shakes until the surgery. I know how quickly time seems to pass, so I believe that it will pass quickly enough and you and I both will be eating happily again in no time.... There are a lot of foods I have trouble eating now, so I think it will be better after surgery- ultimately. I can't wait to be able to chew things like rice and noodles instead of pretty much swallowing them whole because my teeth don't meet enough to chew foods like that.... :)SO! Stock up on nachos now while you can!! I'm 25, but I hadn't thought of having anyone stay with me.... good idea!! But,I don't think anyone else will think so. Do you have your pre-op scheduled? I am waiting to get mine scheduled.... Where are you having your surgery? Katja
Guest guest
My biggest fear is not being able to breathe afterwards, although I've read a few posts regarding that so I've calmed down a bit about it. I have allergies and am constantly stuffed up, especially if lay on my back so have my fingers crossed everything is ok regarding that. My surgery is the 21st and the 12th I'm going out and having a big supper with a few friends to completely gorge on an entire order of nachos by myself. Good idea avoiding the ice cream, I think I'll start that too myself that way I won't get sick of it too soon. My pre-op is next Thursday (March 3) and I'm having my surgery in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). I live in New Brunswick, Canada and am about a 4 1/2 hour drive to Halifax so I pretty have to have someone with me to drive me back home. Where's your surgery?
