Because teens tend to be smaller in stature and are not fully developed yet. That is, unless you are an obese teen like I was. But even then, I wore a size 15 and I know that the teen 15 is/was smaller than the missy 16. So, be happy - you are probably really in a medium missy size, but a teen large I wish I could get into that size and can't wait until I do. Also remember - styles affect sizing a lot, so if someone is saying they are in smaller sizes than you are at the same weight, perhaps they are wearing looser styles, or they are taller than you. Don't fret! Its too bad we are all so " trained " to worry about such things by the fashion industry and the world in general. By the way, I watched a fashion program once about the behind the scenes of a runway fashion show. The girls they use for models are so skinny their bones stick out! They look like they live in a refugee camp. I am NOT kidding you. And, I wonder sometimes if it might be because some of the designers are gay (these guys were) and like men better, so they like their women stick figures without any curvy feminine ways. Now, please don't flame me for saying that. Some of my best friends are gay. This is just an observation of mine. Carole
Guest guest
I was wearing a gorgeous size 16 dress yesterday trying to figure why 16's are still a problem at 168 " . I have just gone through the before and after pics on AMOS and I think the problem for me lies in the midriff. You know that part between the waist and the boobs. My midriff sticks our further than my tummy and boobs. This adds to my size problem.
