Guest guest
Dear Farmworker Health Colleague, FHSI is excited to announce that we have updated our Innovative Outreach Practices Database! Seventeen new practices have been added from the 2008 Innovative Outreach Practices Report. The Database showcases pioneering ideas and best practices for improving farmworker outreach programs from farmworker-serving organizations throughout the country. Over 100 unique practices are featured on the FHSI website from five years of FHSI’s Innovative Outreach Practices Reports. Database viewers can select from a list of twenty-six topics featured in a user-friendly index to learn about tried and proven strategies, practical tools, and activities for reaching out to farmworkers. The Innovative Outreach Practices Database is meant to be used as a reference tool by outreach staff at organizations who are seeking new strategies to improve the effectiveness and reach of their outreach programs. Using the Innovative Outreach Practices Database is easy and simple and requires only two steps! Visit www.farmworkerhealth.org/iopr.html and click on an index title of interest from the list of twenty six possible titles. Some example index titles listed include: Behavioral/Mental Health, Case Management, Dental Health, Mobile Clinics, and new this year, Indigenous Farmworkers. A list of corresponding innovative outreach practices will appear. Click on the one(s) of interest and a description will appear, including a description of the practice and the name of the submitting health center. We hope that you will utilize and enjoy this helpful resource! Thank you, Cassie Caravello Program/Executive Assistant Farmworker Health Services, Inc. 405 14th St. Ste 809 Oakland, CA 94612 (510) 268-0091 www.farmworkerhealth.org
