Strange side effects from surgery

There are two strange side effects from surgery I wanted to know if anyone

else experienced. The first is probably common, but a little gross. Is it

normal to have a yellow oil slick in the toilet after a BM? The second one

is that I stopped biting my fingernails after surgery. I have bit them down

to nothing my whole life, but right after surgery I couldn't fathom putting

anything in my mouth. Now at 7 weeks post-op, I still have no urge to bite

them. I not complaining about it, just thought it was strange.

Kathy-

Yes, the oil slicks are normal and to be expected - that is

malabsorbed fat - meaning calories you don't have to worry about.

As for the " side effect " of stopping nail-biting, that is a new

one! I have heard about a lot of great things happening after this

surgery, but not that one so far.

And congrats on your TERRIFIC weight loss already!
