Cross post--surgery imminent for daughter of a friend

Hi, all,

My husband brought me some sad news. A 13-year-old daughter of a friend got

e-coli and it has not cleared up. Now she has symptoms similar to IBD but

instead of D her lower intestine just shuts down and clamps. She's going in for

surgery next week to try to stimulate things (?)

I've been on this list (and previously on Pecanbread) to help my son's autism. I

have to admit that when I've read about other people's journeys in combating IBD

and other digestive illnesses, I haven't really focused on the details. Now I'd

like to be able to let this child's mom know about anyone who had a similar

situation and was helped by SCD, with or without other interventions. If anyone

remembers a link to a thread or a website or blog that would explain the power

of SCD and/or other treatments in a case like this to this mom, please send them
