Guest guest
A fatty liver (NASH, NonAlcoholic SteatoHepatitis, BTW) is faitly common with us bari-peeps (especially those of us who have been obese for decades and are (or were) diabetic. Symptoms are usually mild, and there are a few tests on your semiannual lab work which will allow your PCP to keep an eye on it: ALT and Bilirubin are measures of liver function. The BUN test is primarily for kidney function, but a low BUN may indicate liver problems. For an in-depth explanation of all the lab tests you (should be) having on a regular basis, I recommend a visit to: labtestsonline.org.
