Guest guest
It is the end of the week and things are going much better-he has his aide. They will consider PECS if it proves needed{a little more prompting and I think they will}. She says she does not want to jump to PECS if he can learn to go with out them-says it will be better for him in the long run if he is not made to look different with PECS-since the others in his class do not need them-this is where I become torn. I dont want to single him out-but I do want him to transition well and I know he does well with the structure of PECS.And they now have in place a plan in the event he escapes the classroom. In his first week he proved the need for such a plan{he did get away from them-but thanks to his aide was guided back in without incident} A well worded, kind hearted letter from me-was all it took. So for those of you entering the school system-be prepared for the worst-but hope for the best{and a little kissing up seems to work wonders to get what you need. F P.S. His name on a string is a distant memory.
