Hi all. I am on day 4 of my recovery. Things are going pretty well

so far. It seems like night time is the worst, but overall, things

have not been too bad. I just posted some pictures in the folder

named if you want to take a look. By looking at the pictures,

you would not even know I had surgery if it weren't for the red

swollen cheeks. I am amazed that I don't even really have any

bruising.

I am wired shut with a splint, but I have fortunately been able to

sip through a cup since Day 1. I do have numbnessin throughout my

lower lip and chin, but not to the point that I am unable to sip. My

lip and cheeks swell a little more a night, making it harder to

drink, but it hasn't been too bad so far.

I really didn't want much to eat (drink :o)) the first couple of

days, but I have now graduated to 2 Ensures, a V8, some juice, and

lots of water. I am graadually working my way up to more liquids

each day, but I am certainly not ready for anything remotely thick

yet.

I know that I am really early in my recovery, but I am already

looking forward to eating real food. I am supposed to be wired 4 to

6 weeks, so I know I have a long road ahead of me.

I'll keep posting updates, and please ask any questions that you

might have. This group definitely prepared me for this experience,

and I want to be able to help others as much as this group has

already helped me.
