Guest guest
I got my splint out! I got my splint out! I ate a cheeseburger! I ate a cheeseburger! Ok sorry but 8 weeks postop I had my splint removed. When it was coming out it felt as if I had a layer of mold in my mouth literally! I brushed and it felt sooooo good. My dr (the good resident dr) was a little surprised I can only open an inch. Of course my dr came in for about a minute and said basically nothing. No talk of soft diet or diet at all!! So.... after I went to the ortho to have a new arch placed in my top I went straight to ....Mcs! I tore a small cheeseburger into pieces and literally crammed it in my mouth. I could chew a little. Swallowed a little whole! I even chewed a couple of fries. I then came home got my family and we went to Posados! I actually ate mexican food!! Believe it or not I still crave tapioca pudding, and mashed potatoes with spagetti sauce!! I still want my cambells soup at hand??? What's wrong with me!? My mouth feels so normal again. I have major sensitivity in my backteeth that are banded. My teeth are sore from the new arch, and I have that burnt numb feeling in the roof of my mouth like we have all talked about. My ortho has really helped me soo much! He told me that I would have a feeling in my mouth like I ate too hot pizza. He said not to worry that it would fade. My bottom is pulling back and my ortho says elastics will help the bones and muscles heal in the correct place. If my jaw heals and pulls forward then I will be getting my braces off end of May before we move. Hee hee my ortho says to pull the u hal in and he will yank them as we leave!! Fine with me. I'm ok about leaving them on longer if my bands don't work that quickly. I know it will be done right. Jane
