Guest guest
Far as I know, if you're having one or both jaws cut apart and screwed back together, you need (and should welcome) general anesthesia, intubation and all. I asked my surgeon whether we couldn't do my lower advancement with a drip anesthetic. " Nope. We'd wake you up, " was the reply. I don't know that this is true. Don't know that it's true of the SARPE, nor screw removal (if you need screw removal). But I can't remember anybody who didn't have intubation who had the cuts through the bone of either jaw.
