Guest guest
Hi, I'm going in for upper and lower and a possible genioplasty tomorrow! Still not sure whether to go through with the chin-op. At the moment, it is not so prominent, and with my lower being moved back a few millimeters I think it will become less prominent. Who has done a genio here and why? I've also got job interviews next week. Do you think the bruising and swelling will subside in 5 days? Argh!
Guest guest
Good luck for your surgery tomorrow!! In terms of job interviews I asked the group how long I should factor in before doing job interviews post-op and they told me at least 10 days ( i am doing only upper and genio). I hate to be pessimistic but since you are doing upper, lower and possibly genio, don't you think you're being a bit hasty with the interviewing 5 days post-op? And it won't be so much the bruising and swelling that I would worry about but that the fact that you won't be able to speak very clearly and you'll most likely still be heavily medicated to alleviate the pain. Not really the best time to prove to a prospective employer that you are the candidate they want in my opinion. Sorry to put such a downer on it all! Is there any way that you can move the interviews by at least a week? Good luck tomorrow!! I'm sure you'll come out of it looking swell:-) Sara > > Hi, I'm going in for upper and lower and a possible genioplasty > tomorrow! Still not sure whether to go through with the chin-op. Guest guest
Don't worry. I am not expecting to go to the interview with a normal looking face! hehe. Unfortunately, the companies which I have interviews with have strict scheduling as it is for graduate recruitment, and I don't think they will allow me to reschedule. I'll let you know how it goes. > > > > Hi, I'm going in for upper and lower and a possible genioplasty > > tomorrow! Still not sure whether to go through with the chin-op. Guest guest
I had upper lower Le Fort 2 piece and 5 days post op I was still hugely swollen, couldn't talk a bit, and still laying in bed. With upper and lower I would say the 2nd week would my earliest recommendation for anything out of the house. Guest guest
Well, then seeing how determined you are (and trust me they will feel sorry for you) I'm sure you'll do fine. Guest guest
use lots of arnica cream, it's great for swelling and bruising. I used it on my face when i had another operation some years back and it really helped reduce the bruising and the swelling. Also, ice, ice is good! Good luck for both the surgery and the graduate recruitment interviews. I know exactly how you feel. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you:-) Sara > > > > > > Hi, I'm going in for upper and lower and a possible genioplasty > > > tomorrow!
