Guest guest
Kathy, You have to drink enough to keep yourself hydrated, there is no way to know how much this is at first. Dr. A leaves a J tube in with which you can give yourself extra fluids, use it! You can put both fluids such as water down there and protein shakes if you want. Carol, Dr. A.'s nutritionist doesn't give you an amount of protein to eat at first because we are all very different as to what we can tolerate. When you first come home and for the first couple of weeks you will only be able to eat a bite or two at a time. The most imporant thing to remember as we say on the USC list is to sip, sip, sip, nibble, nibble, nibble, and walk, walk, walk as the best way to survive the first few weeks.
