About your husband: whether you're recovering from surgery or not,

don't put the house/dishes/housework above your needs to rest and

decompress. When you set your loved one's expectations about how much

you do around the house, this is what they will come to expect of you,

whether you feel up to it or not. My mother used to do everything

around the house, even when tired and sick, while working full-time,

and no one ever appreciated her efforts (I do now, when I understand

how hard it was for her, but not then). You have to teach your family

to respect your need for rest, and then every time you make dinner or

do dishes will be appreciated :). Unfortunately, this is the only way.
