Guest guest
Dear Janelle: I´ve always heard about reggressions, too. But my son was weird since very very young, although I can´t tell exactly since when. I can remeber when he was only 2 months old, his Pediatrician make a bell sound very close to one of his ears, expecting he will turn his little head, but nothing. We though he was deaf; and we kept waiting for him to turn around at home and nothing again. So I knew ther was something wrong. He has never had language, as I hear other people saying their sons were normal, talking until 18 months. I don´t know ,I received a vaccine while I was pregnant, the Gammaglobulin, because I am O rh Negative Factor and my husnband is O rh Positive.Maybe that was the cause; my pregnancy was terible, I almost lost him at 2 months, bleedings, a lot of nausea, excessive saliva producing, faintings, vomiting, I lost 20 pounds the first trimester; I had a C sectiom because there was a membraine rupture. There are a lot of possible causes as you said. And you´re right; no matter what we must focus in how to cure them; yes cure them, because I´m sure one of these days they will discover the cure. We must keep praying for that to happen and in the meantime let´s keep working as we are with our kids. Carmen.
Guest guest
Carmen, Don't know if you know but <<excessive saliva producing>> is a sign of mercury toxicity. Having had the Gammaglobulin and these symptoms I would suspect you may have been mercury toxic. Do you also have amalgam fillings? I do and suspect that my son had high levels of mercury even from birth because of them. His hep b shots added a very toxic amount at a very vulnerable point also. After his hep b shots he began to drool excessively..like water pouring out of his mouth. This was at 3 months and he did not cut a single tooth until after 12 months. What you said about the saliva just stuck out to me. There are many contributing factors...many before birth. Dawn
Guest guest
Dawn, On the topic of saliva, which is really interesting BTW as I had that with Jane, but do you or anyone know if drooling in an ASD child " means anything " ? Jane's SI therapist, speech path, and I notice her left side is slightly weaker( ex. she can't stick out her tongue on the left side) and this is the side she continues to drool from(at 33 mos). I assume it's just a muscle thing, what do you think? Also, do any of you have apraxia in your ASD children? I am convinced she has this and feel like a neurotic mom bc nobody will address this, except for the dev. spec. who dx her and said he felt she had it. Email me personally if you want (as I have been asking many OT questions) and let me know how you knew, who you found to help, etc...
