Hi! I read a lot of helpful info on this on 's (and 's)

site, and also read the string from Stacee's question regarding

surgery. My daughter is scheduled for surgery for open incision

Achilles tendon lengthening (for Jan. 3)- we were just told about

this today, and I was told that they will be able to tell then if

they need to go ahead w/ the joint release while she is under

(anesthesia (left foot only for joint release). This just sounds so

invasive! Does anyone have experience w/ this procedure and know the

pros and cons? I heard from Joyce today at Dr. Ponseti's office

(wow, that was fast!)but that was before I knew about the surgery. I

have responded with the new update to Joyce and Dr. P, but I know

that she is only in the office twice a week. I am ready to travel

for a doctor w/ experience treating older babies, and would like to

get a second opinion before the surgery (unless the joint release is

pretty routine). Anyone know of good docs in FL (or anywhere they we

might have a good chance of seeing in the next two weeks?) I read

about Dr. Knapp in Orlando on 's site, but I don't

think that he is at Nemours Clinic there anymore... We are going

Wed. (12/21) to her primary care doc for a pre-op physical.

Insurance Co. says that we can get a referral from him to anyone for

a second opinion. I am looking for info on other docs before our pre-

op on Wed. Thaks, so much guys. It was only after info on this site

that we knew to fight for things like recasting, etc. (she is in

healing casts right now). Any info on experienced doctors and /or

the posterior release procedure would be great!
