Guest guest
This is just a quick post to tell you all that Maysa graduated today from her 2nd DOC band. It was rainy, traffic was awful, we got there late but they took us right in and took off the band for good. Doing the DSi was quite a challenge. Her hair was creating bumps in various places. She also cried the entire time her pictures were taken, but then, when it was time to leave, she actually wanted to stay. Go figure! We will be getting her photo study via email, soon I hope, and I am going back there in a few days to take side by side pictures of her three DSi. I have to share those with you as the DSi really shows how much more she improved between the first and the second band. Also, from the manual measurements that our ortho took, Maysa's asymmetry went from 10mm to 3mm and her Cephalic Index from 96.55% to 85.5%. Awesome, isn't it? I will post more later. Guest guest
My goodness she is so cute! I love the smiley and crying faces next to each other. The improvement is so obvious and the head looks great from all sides. This must be so rewarding. Last few days I have been feeling quite depressed about my son's head, I know it is improving but I can't stop thinking that it never would be as it was supposed to be, that it could be avoided and etc. So Maysa's pictures really cheered me up. You made just such a good job posting high resolution pictures -- so easy to look at all the details. Enjoy the sweet round head! Guest guest
YEAH Maysa!! She looks great! My Zayden should graduate on 6/9 but his head still is a little bit flat, but not nearly as bad as it once was (you can see him in the Z files under Zayden). Our orthotist does not recomend a second band, but I don't know if she's saying that because we can't afford it and to make us feel better, or if this is the best it gets. This is what our clinician said on 03/23/09 (the first month he received his band): " He grew 3 mm in 1 week (1-3 is typical for his age). His plagiocephaly is severe (but he is growing and improving already!). His initial asymmetry measured at 16mm. " I can't wait to see what his final results are! His head looks a lot better and he has so much hair you can't realy tell, but we'll see if that holds true when we give him a mohawk! Thanks for your support everybody!! Guest guest
Alaina, I went to the Z folder and only saw pictures of Zayden in his band. Do you have pictures of how he looks now? Either way, I am sure that he has improved. Just see what his exit measurements and pics look like.
