Although your post wasn't meant for me, I am also a smoker and I'm having a

hard time quitting. My surgery is scheduled for July 19, 2004 and my doc.

insisted I quit at least 3 months before. I actually started trying to quit

in April and did very well using the patches, however, after the 1st 6 weeks

of not smoking or just 1 here and there it seemed to become harder. I am

still struggling and still smoking between 1-4 a day, which I don't think is

too bad considering I was a pack a day smoker before. I try not to buy

cigarettes, but have bought a couple of packs along the way, which seem to

last for several days. I'm glad to hear that you had no ill affects from

smoking and surgery. I hope I'm as lucky. Good luck with trying to quit

again. It's soooo hard.
