Hi Sue, the IgE testing was the kind of allergy test they did. They put

a little butterfly needle into LJ and took several small vials from him -

how many, I don't know, cause I woul;dn't look!!!!! Results were back in

a week or two.

You asked what casein and gluten are. Casein is inyour milk products

thing to avoid. Cheeses, milk, butters, chheeses, yogurts, icecreams,

etc. Casein and milk products are in most cookies, cakes, etc. Gluten

is your wheat, oat, barley, rye, etc. buut there are many hidden forms of

gluten. You have to get that book I mentioned in the original post

" Special Diets for Special Kids " by . It will explain the

whole basis behind this diet, 150 recipes, what to replace things with,

what to avoid, etc.

LJ is my 6 year old boy's name. It is not initials, it is his name!!

ABA is short for Applied Behavior Analysis. It is a method of teaching,

usually 1 on 1. Much of it is based on a breaking down of one item to be

learned into smaller parts, and repeating over and over each of these

parts. Rewards or reinforcers are used to motivate the child to learn.

Eventually the reinforcers are faded away and things aren't broken down

into such small parts. ABA involves alot of data taking and changing

strategies.

Yes, my son has autism. He has been involved with schooling since 23

months of age and before that for 6 months in my home. He is 6 years of

age now and in Sept he will start transitioning out of his ABA program

into a small class with a 1 on 1 aide.

He has been on this diet for the last 16 months and is doing great!!!!

HFS means a Health Food Store.

Hope this helps some. You can ask anytime
