Guest guest
You have my sympathy! I have dealt with that also. It is awful! It will resolve itself and will only be a nasty memory. HANG IN THERE! Joyce
Guest guest
> i still have sharp pains around the incision (open RNY - incision > from my sternum to into my belly button). I had the exact same problem and have 3 solutions to offer: -Lidocaine patches. These are prescription patches that you place NEAR the incision, never directly on it. They dull pain a lot (think novaCAINE) around the incision. They made a big difference and can be cut to any size/shape so you can put them all around the incision. -Mepalex border dressings. These are silicone dressings that are soooo very easy on the skin and so comfortable. You can also get them wet. My skin was raw from the tape and these really helped. Just type in MEPALEX on Google and you can buy them online. They are pricey, but if your Dr. writes a letter of med necessity, your ins. may cover them. -For really bad incision pain, I had liquid percocet. It definitely helped, but be careful as this has addictive qualities. Best of luck, 11/18/03 284/249 preop/
