Guest guest
* Hi, my son is allergic to rice and there are many things to substututute with other than rice. For beverage I use Dari-free which is a potato based beverage. For pasta I use Papadinis lentil bean pasta (which is high in protein) and there is also pasta made from potatoes or pasta made from corn. For flours for baking you can use the various starches, sorghum flour, etc.. Guest guest
A nice steamed rice subsitute is quinoa grains. Just cook like rice. Very tasty and more nutritious than rice. Ancient Harvest corn & quinoa pasta is good, too. Environkids has a couple of glutenfree, ricefree cereals. Soy Cream is a yummy ice cream sub. Darifree & mocha mix milk subs don't have any rice. Cream of buckwheat can replace cream of rice for a hot cereal. Being ricefree is a bit of a hassle, but as with gfcf, you will get used to it and find some staple products. Also, several listmates at gfcfrecipes are living with gfcfrf and will have more ideas for you.
