Thank you all so much for your thoughts and support. I appreciate it so much.

My follow-up question for you is if we do restart the diet how do start again

when he will not go through the intro again. He had gone back to eating several

illegal things these past few days.

Thanks,

Sherry

Sherry,

I think I would be inclined to write a letter to that physician stating

that although you respect his professional views, you would appreciate it

if s/he would not undermine your parental authority by sneering at what

you choose to feed your family. What s/he did was unprofessional, at

best.

At this point, I would simply provide only SCD food at home. Do not

allow any non-SCD foods in the house. Do not give him money to

purchase non-SCD foods.

Make sure the food is tasty, even if it's probably too advanced. It's got

to be better for him than junk food! Make sure you have stuff like Krivel

Krackers, cheese crisps and pork rinds around for when he wants crispy

things to munch. Make chip-dips out of half & half yogurt -- I have a

good ranch dressing recipe that my non-SCD Dad says is better than the

house ranch of several high quality restaurants here in New Orleans. Use

things like pecan souffle bread to make breakfast burritoes and other

wraps which are quick, on the go teenager food.

No, you can't force him to do SCD. But you can make it easier for him to

do SCD than not do it.
