Guest guest
I just tried the Darifree for the first time; it is really good! Also, I hate potatoes, but my doctor wants me to try to eat more of them because of potassium level drops I get--good way to get this in my system quicker as well. Also, I checked, and Darifree is more than 1/2 less than buying the liquid equivalents in the store if you buy it in bulk. Now, does anyone have any good cookie recipes? I tried one GFCF recipe I found; it was a BIG flop--couldn't salvage it. I tried converting a family recipe for snickerdoodles; good taste and texture, but stuck too bad and didn't hold together well enough (will add more flour, extra egg, more xanthan gum next time to try); salvagable, though, for crumb crusts and fruit crisp topping. I used this flour mix from GFCFDiet.com: Gluten & Casein Free Cooking. I really like it. It has the texture and smell of GF flour in baking. Plus, the millet is better for low blood sugar, and this avoids the too worst for that: corn and rice. 1 1/3 c. millet flour 2/3 c. potato starch 2/3 c. sorghum flour 1/3 c. tapioca starch 2 T. bean flour
