3 Weeks to Submit Paperwork and 2 Hours to be Denied!

This is cross posted, by the way. I didn't know we

are supposed to say this!

Well, my PCP finally faxed the paperwork, I went home

and took my pain meds and got a phone call from my

PCP. He said the Marin IPA (Pacificare) called him

and said they were going to deny the DS for me. He

says their reason is because there's only 1 doctor in

the area doing the DS and therefore it isn't standard

in the community.

I don't have it in writing but I think I have a chance

if that is what they write because there are alot of

Pacificare patients in Northern Calif who have had the

surgery thru Dr. Rabkin. Heck, Pacificare is all he

takes now, right? (Thru B & T and someone else).

When I get the denial in writing, I'm sending in my

official appeal. I'm relieved the denial came so

fast.

Theresa, thanks so much for your kind comments. The

nutty thing is that I'm not a pushy person at all!

And all of this concentration and stress is really

hurting my physically/mentally but I'm not going to

stop. When it gets too much, I try to take a break

from it to recharge my batteries.

BTW, I'm sorry that you got the info from your

carrier. Are you going to fight it or pay and have

the surgery? ly, if I had to pay $5K, I'd go for

it.

I was thinking I'll offer to pay Dr Rabkin's surgeon

fees as a compromise. hehehe. Heck, I'd have to pay

$12K anyway... would only get about $3K back from

Pacificare so maybe I'll make the offer!
