Guest guest
The news reports here are confusing, but it seems that transport into Manhattan has been shut down. Transport out to Queens and Jersey is slowly coming back. I'm in Manhattan, but on a place called Roosevelt Island which is actually in the East River between Manhattan and Queens. I can hear sirens as emergency vehicles take the injured to East Side Hospitals. Today is my regular day off, but I called my hospital--a small psych institution--but was told I wasn't needed even if I could get in. Haven't gotten any calls from other hospitals were I do per diem or any agencies I do home care for. I think they're so busy that they can't even take the time to call anyone in. I can't make any long distance calls,(busy circuits) and my cell phone keeps telling me that its circuits are busy also. If any of you are worried about family and friends and can't get through, post here or email me privately and I'll see what I can do. c50684@...
