Intro diet questions

I'm new to this list and the SCD and I apologize if my questions have already

been brought up. I searched a little ways back and didn't find the information

I was looking for.

I haven't started the intro diet yet as I'm just trying to get myself prepared

and well informed about SCD first. I was wondering, however, if it's possible

to substitute a different vegetable in the chicken soup instead of the cooked

pureed carrots for the intro diet? I believe I have problems with carrots and

have avoided them for a really long time. I was thinking zucchini, but then I

came across a post saying that they're quite fibrous? Perhaps well cooked

string beans? Or some other option??

Secondly, I've been following an anti-candida dietary regimen for the past

little while as I've had a problem with candida overgrowth. The specific

anti-candida regimen that I've been following stipulates no fruit, sweeteners,

grains/starch, or dairy. What I'm wondering is if the homemade yogurt and the

DCCC which are considered OK items for the intro diet in BTVC would be ok if one

is also battling a candida issue? My assumption is that they are allowed on the

diet because they are virtually free of lactose and therefore being free of

lactose it would mean that there's nothing there for the yeast to feed on and so

I should be ok eating them on the intro diet...? I plan on staying away from

fruit and honey for the time being until the candida issue has been cleared up,

it's just this dairy question which I'm unsure about.

Any insight into either of these questions would be so greatly appreciated :)
