Guest guest
Kathy Not trying to be funny or be flip. I am musing outloud but I am thinking that there are ways to sabotage even this surgery. I guess the way to do it would be by eating tons of carbs which happens to have a higher aborsption rate. Just a thought though not that I am advocating anyone " high carb it " just saying that if losing to much weight is a concern I guess maybe that is a possible answer to that problem. The doctor was concerned that she was becoming malnourished and was losing too much, too fast. They added an enzyme for her to take with meals and that stabilized her weight. I guess what I am saying is that even if you end up being in the small percentage that loses too much, there are other options besides another surgery. This brings me to my own loss so far. I started with BMI of 40. Now 2 1/2 months later I am at 29. I have lost 53 lbs. so far which puts me past halfway to goal. I keep thinking that this rate of loss will slow down soon, but it hasn't. I am eating and I feel healthy. I actually feel better than pre-op. I am very happy with my results so far, but at what point should I be concerned? I see my surgeon in 3 weeks and I will ask him all of this then. I just want to get some of your advice before I see him. By the way, I did find out that my common channel is 74 cm. Kathy M.
