Guest guest
My ds, age 2, who is being evaluated for autism had blood tests come back with slightly elevated lactic acid levels. I have looked this up but want to know what the signifigance can be between that finding and autism. Can anyone help me out here? We are redoing the test because the doc said that usually when they are elevated they are very elevated and his is only slightly so she wants to make sure the result was accurate. This is a pediatrician but she seems open to listening to what I have to say (in the course of evaluating for autism in addition to a full blood testing workup she is also sending us for EEG, MRI, allergy testing, pediatric opthamologist, private eval, etc..,). I know there is only so far she can go but if there is some connection here that she may not know about with autism I would like to give it a shot letting her know. If you know or have heard about any connection between elevated lactic acid on a blood test and autism, please let me know. Thanks, Meggie
