Guest guest
Hi all, I am in the middle of writing an appeal letter for our son and am trying to drum up some supporting documentation. Does anyone have a list of insurance companies that do cover the cranial orthotic? I know cigna and aetna cover it, apparently sometimes UHC (although they denied us so far). Anyone else? Thanks in advance. -
Guest guest
I also have UHC and our band was denied the day the claim went in. I called them almost everyday to get an update on the claim I was told each time that it is still being processed only to find out it was denied the day they got it! I called my husbands company and his HR dept got involved as to the awful customer service I had gotten each time I spoke to someone! I did however get a call the other day that all of a sudden it was approved! I know that we do not have an exclusion on our policy and that was why I was fighting so hard! I did not have to file an appeal as of yet although I still have yet to get approval paperwork! Contact your benefits team and see what they can do! Best of luck! > > Hi all, > > I am in the middle of writing an appeal letter for our son and am trying to drum up some supporting documentation. Guest guest
I'm not sure we have a list (though that's a great idea). I know that BCBS Federal Employee Program does in differing variations. We have BCBS FEP of NC and they covered 90% in network and 75% out of network (with out level of plan, the lower level had no out of network coverage so it can really depend). If you do compile a list, it would be great to add to our Files database. Good luck with your appeal! Guest guest
We have BCBS Federal Employee Program and they denied us. A couple weeks ago they sent it to medical review and I just found out today they denied us again. I sent a letter of medical necessity from the dr and copies of our scans. What else should I send in?? Any suggestions from people who got approved from BCBS FEP would be great...thanks!! > > > > Hi all, > > > > I am in the middle of writing an appeal letter for our son and am trying to drum up some supporting documentation. Guest guest
We have Kaiser in Northern California and the band was covered as part of Durable Medical Equipment (DME). Our specific DME coverage was 80%; other people have plans that cover DME at 100%. So, with Kaiser, I think it depends on what plan you have what, if any, DME coverage is provided.
