From my perspective I have been in braces for 34 months. And my surgery

occurred 22 months after I had my braces put on. My braces will be coming

off next Tuesday for a total of 11 months post-op with braces. My lower jaw was

pulled back and I had a bone graft from my hip to lower my top teeth, so my

procedure probably is more complicated then most. I had the underbite from

hell. Then I have to start the implant procedure to fill the two teeth that

never came in, but that will be a breeze compared to braces. Good luck in your

decision.
