Getting surgery soon, how long is the healing process?

Hey guys, I just joined this group and I'm really nervous about my

surgery. I'm 17 and getting the surgery on my upper and lower jaw

because I have a pretty bad overbite. They're breaking both and then

realigning them, and then wiring my jaw shut. I'm getting it the day

after my graduation (and yes, I do have to have braces from prom and

graduation) and I was just wondering how long it will take before it

heals? I don't want to go to college with a messed up face, so could

someone please tell me? Also, is the surgery very painful, and do you

find that you lose a lot of weight because you are on a liquid diet?
