Guest guest
Hi all! I was surfin last week, and found this site, this guy is funny, and informative at the same time. I thought this might intrest a few..... Basil White's protein shake http://www.basilwhite.com/gastric/ Many people have asked me for my protein supplement regimen, including people who want to lose weight who aren't contemplating the surgery. Here it is. I think it tastes like chocolate cake batter. take a cup add 4 ounces of water add 2 scoops of chocolate 100% pure whey protein (available at vitamin stores and some grocery stores - don't let them talk you into the vitamin-fortified crap) add 1 scoop of pure soy powder (also available at vitamin stores and some grocery stores - you need linoleic & Alpha-linolenic fatty acid every day, and soy products containing fat have both, and they're really hard to find from anything else on the planet except for soy) add 1-2 tablespoons of No Sugar Added Nesquik chocolate powder Mix this stuff up with a spoon until it's the consistency of pudding. Add more water until it's the consistency you want. Mixing the ingredients in this way eliminates little pockets of dry unmixed ingredients. Two of these shakes gives me the 60 grams of supplemental protein a day my nutritionist recommended for male gastric bypass patients (50 grams for women). I split it out over two or three glasses over the day. It's very yummy, and eliminates all of my desires for food for about two hours. It's even better if you mix it with an electric " boat motor " hand blender. Add a banana if you have one. This recipe has 374 calories 65 grams of protein 4 grams of fat 3 grams of sugar.
