Guest guest
The 20 year vet I know had a Mason bypass, which is a bypass. VItaLady had a non-transected (old stomach not cut, but RnY all the same) RnY 9-10 years ago. She has since been resected (stomach removed). VitaGuy's surgery was one year after her original surgery, and he is still not transected. I'm not sure why you think RnY has only been around 4-5 years, but that's just not true. <<Subject: RE: Re: Surgery Date - Still a scaredy pants - anyone... Sorry to disagree with everyone, but there is no way that anyone had this surgery longer than 4-5 years ago...not THIS RNY surgery......if someone had something 20 years ago, that was the stomach stapling not RNY....if they had it 6 years ago (I doubt it but...) then they were one of the very FIRST to have it done because this surgery has not been around that long....that's why insurance companies think it's too " risky " .
