Guest guest
>>> Proposal for eating and living during higher stress than usual:...<<< Ceep, Excellent advice, as usual! I so appreciate your calm wisdom. I agree that routines are so very important in dealing with stress and upheaval in our lives. They can be so soothing for all of us. As a school social worker, I am constantly encouraging parents of children who are having difficulties to have set routines in the morning to get the day off to a good start, at night to help promote a good night's sleep, at homework time to help with getting down to task, and during holidays to provide a sense of belonging and grounding. I try to follow the same routine every morning: let the dogs out, feed the animals, make DH's breakfast and my protein shake, then drink my shake and take my vits/minerals while I read emails. Nothing exciting or special, but if I don't get those steps in, I feel somewhat unsettled all day. If I follow the routine, no matter how hectic and unpredictable the day becomes, I start from a calm, solid base.
