My husband did the master cleanse, but he was not on SCD at the time. Before you do it, I would read over the WHOLE explanation very carefully and make sure it's ok to sub honey. He explains (though I don't rememebr at all what he said) why maple syrup is used. If you sub honey and that is pretty much ALL you eat for 10 days, you really should make sure it provides whatever nutrients that he says the maple syrup provides.

Does that make any sense? Just want to make sure you don't harm yourself.

Good luck!

Or AKA the lemonade diet.My (late) father in law always tried to get me to do this diet with him and I was too stubborn to try it. I think I'm far enough along in my healing to try it now. The original diet calls for Grade B Maple Syrup which is illegal so I plan on using honey. For 10 days you drink a mixture of lemon juice with honey, drink tons of water and start each day with a salt water flush (2 TSP salt to a quart of water). The diet also calls for the use of senna tea to help with BMs but since it's illegal, I'll just stick with the salt water flush. This diet is supposed to help detoxify the body and get rid of Candida. Has anyone else tried this diet while on SCD? I think it will be very beneficial in helping me get rid of Candida and also detoxifying my body in general.Any input would be greatly appreciated.Misty KimbleCD - no medsSCD - 2+ years
