Guest guest
Hi everyone, My Name is Joanne, and today is my one-year WLS anniversary. I feel as though I know all of you intimately because I've been lurking around these here parts on and off for over six-months. I'm a patient of Dr. Greenbaum's in Willingboro, NJ. I had an open proximal RNY! I'm celebrating my anniversary with a hernia repair and a TT. This alien that has been growing in my belly will see it's demise tomorrow... and I can't even imagine being w/o it now. The hernia is HUGE! I can't wait to be able to cough, w/o feeling as though my stomach is being torn just a little bit more I started my WL journey @ 274lbs... my weight today is 165 and I'd like to lose another 20 lbs. I'm hoping that my surgery tomorrow will put me into that 2nd round of losing like I've read that so many of you have had. I'm still losing, but it's been slow the last couple of months. Thankfully, my labs to date are all poifect. The only food I can't tolerate any more is pasta, and I used to be the pasta queen. I'd be able to eat 1/2lb just for a snack. These days a fork fill makes me feel bloated and bloated beyond words, so I just don't eat it any more. If any of you can give me some suggestions on post op hernia repair/TT care. And/or tell me what I can look forward to, I'd sure appreciate it. It will give me something to read when I get home from the hospital on Tuesday. I'm having a full abdominoplasty with an Anchor Incision. I just felt as though this surgery would be more contouring than just the smiley face incisioned one. Anyone out here, that has had this particular TT? Any heads up on wound care, drain tolerance, etc., will be greatly appreciated. I'm going to take a moment and thank you all, because you've all helped me thru some trying times during the recovery period, both physically and emotionally, and you guyz didn't even realize it. My e-mail addy is mizj2@.... Nice to be able to finally say Hi! Joanne Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
