Guest guest Posted October 3, 2001 Report Share Posted October 3, 2001 Hi Everyone, Ashford finally went to the " other side " today and all was a success!!! Her surgery was scheduled for 9:00am with Dr Pomp at Mt Sinai. They didn't get started until 9:30. At 1:30 when I called, I was told she was still in surgery. Sometime between then and 4:00pm she was brought into recovery. She was not given a room until 10:20pm!!! She is in the Gugenheim Pavilion at Mt Sinai Hospital, floor 10 East, room 320A. Her phone has been connected and her number is . I spoke with her around 10:30pm and she sounds awesome! She said she has a special kind of IV in her neck (she had a name for it, nurse lingo, which I am not so I don't remember) and her IV was infiltrating. And several times she exclaimed " I'm so stoned!! " She coughed and that brought her some pain. But overall, she came through it with all her faculties and she sounds great! I will chat more with her tomorrow and send another update. Another switched friend!!! Keep in your thoughts and prayers for a smooth, boring recovery.
