Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was alarmed about the fainting in the last post, particularly when showering alone in the house for the first time. This can happen after any surgery, so here is a tip. Get one of those plastic stacking lawn chairs. The kind that are molded white or colored smooth plastic and you can sometimes find 2 for $10. Make sure it is sturdy. Most every drug and variety store have them. They usually have holes in the seat to drain rain water. You get the picture. I put a hand towel on the seat to make it less slippery, and use it like a shower chair. I use a hand held shower, but a regular head used at less volume might work, or you can get those spigot type devices that cost around $7. I keep shampoo, conditioner, soap and cloth at arms length with one of those over-the-nozzle organizers. I dry off most of my body while sitting before I stand up. When I am done, I just wring the hand towel out and launder. I keep the chair there until I know I am back to my normal strength. Maybe this will help someone avoid fainting. That can be pretty scary and dangerous too! Fran > > > > I am just curious what everyone's experience was regarding cleaning > > up after surgery.
